What goes around...

Today's little entry has little to do with plastics, or my second favorite topic here, computers and the net. But it was delightfully entertaining to me, so I should share, right?

So I'm at the supermarket with the wife, maintaining tight control over the shopping basket. Funny but I feel naked there if I'm not the one pushing the basket. So anyway, I'm on hold while the wife is nearby staring at various foods.  She does that. Seems like the selections overwhelms her and she goes into a trance like state requiring me to snap her out of it sometimes, but I digress.

So I'm standing there, off to the side to not block traffic, and I'm just looking around and a man with basket and kids following is approaching...

No big deal, routine stuff. Then as the last kid passes by, he's about 8-ish, he makes eye contact with me and locks his eyes to mine. Then he makes a real ugly face at me and makes this taunting cackle at me. As he passes me he remains locked to me eyeballs to eyeballs. He must have enjoyed the somewhat shocked face I must have had at this little brat's performance.  It was ugly, it was the upgrade of sticking your tongue out at someone. He was sticking his whole face out at me whilst making this cackling noise.

Now I'm a parent of the "law and order" variety, and it's worked pretty well for me, so one of my pet peeves is undisciplined kids in public places.

So now comes the best part. Kid Brat is so focused on me as he passes that he is looking way over to me while he is walking straight.

Straight into a wall!

And he turned from me just in time to see the wall, but not in time to stop himself as he bounces off it.

Instantly, he turns to me embarrassed and wanting to see if I had seen this. Of course, I had never taken my eyes off of him and now I had a GREAT BIG smile on my face.  He was in shock, I leaned over and quickly gaged how far away his father was and reproduced his cackle just loud enough for him to hear.

He then looked like he was gonna cry (don't feel bad, remember he was a brat) and he ran off.

And the wife saw the whole thing, apparently snapping out of her trance in time, and when he bounced off the wall she even said to him, while chuckling, "See what you get?"

I believe in "what goes around, comes around" but never have I seen justice applied so instantaneously. Anyway, it set the tone for a great shopping experience that day.
